SLP (Civil /Criminal)

Special Leave Petitions in India (SLP) holds a prime place in the Judiciary of India, and has been provided as a “residual power” in the hands of Supreme Court of India to be exercised only in cases when any substantial question of law is involved, or gross injustice has been done.

Public Interest Litigation

Public interest litigation refers to litigation undertaken to secure public interest at large and demonstrates the availability of justice to socially-disadvantaged parties.

Writ Petition (Civil /Criminal)

Writ Petition is an order by a higher court to a lower court or courts, directing them to do something or stop them from doing something. Writ is a form of written command in the name of the court.

Review Petition (Civil /Criminal)

The parties aggrieved on any order of the Supreme Court on any apparent error can file a review petition. Taking into consideration the principle of stare decisis, courts generally do not unsettle a decision, without a strong case.

Curative Petition (Civil /Criminal)

A curative petition is the last constitutional resort available for redressal of grievances in court after a review plea is dismissed or has been exhausted.
